The Journey Begins.

When my son was just six years old we made a pack that we would travel every Christmas and New Years' instead of buying toys and stuff that he would only play with for a day or an hour the most. No more toys we vowed! So we threw out the tree and the lights and abandoned the toys and started our adventure. The first step was to begin our journey by ordering a world map from Amazon that allowed us to scratch-off the countries and places we would visit. I posted the map on the wall of our apartment and my son had the honor of choosing our adventure. Second, I would make the arrangements. These trips were planned months in advance so that my son and I could discuss the expectations and things he might experience and things he might have trouble with. Our first adventure took us to the island of the Bahamas on the Dr.Seuss Cruise ship.
